Name: Desirae Roberge

Country of Origin: Canada

Occupation: Chef

Star sign: Cancer

Age: 22

Savoury or sweet?

Savoury.

Describe what you last ate:

Rice and dahl and some eggplant thing that I don't know what it was called and... egg curry which was interesting. Also Indian potato salad and chapati and whatever that coconut dessert was, I can't remember what it was called.

What is your favourite meal to eat out?

I really like to eat out for brunch, for sure, so like 10 o'clock. I usually only eat like twice per day, which I know is wrong, but that's how it works out! And then I usually eat at about 7 o'clock.

Describe your favourite beverage:

Beer. Really cold beer, or like Radler, which is half beer and half grapefruit juice.

If you could only choose one cuisine to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Oh gosh. Probably Mexican food.

Describe your lazy dinner meal:

Cereal, or a grilled cheese sandwich.

What is your pantry staple you can't live without?

Cereal. I eat a lot of cereal. Like literally I eat cereal most of the time and up to twice per day.

Describe your perfect cake:

I don't eat very much cake. Probably a really really rich chocolate cake that I only eat like once per year.

What is the worst thing you have ever eaten?

There's not many. So the fact that I have to think about it this hard is pretty good. Umm... most of the time when I eat out and it's something really shitty, like when you order a BLT sandwich and it comes in the crappiest bread with pre-cooked bacon that's got giant bacon bits that you can buy on the shelf at the grocery store and you have to pay like $12 for it and you're like this is awful. That's only happened to me once and it stuck out that bad. I don't waste food and I left half of the sandwich sitting there.

If you woke up for a midnight snack what would you choose?

Leftovers.

What food would you like to be able to make from scratch?

Really traditional Indian food, because it's probably the hardest as far as I would say. Because many many other nationalities of food are often very fresh and have a lot of fresh influence, whereas Indian food is way more spice and herb based and if you don't get that right it's not going to taste right. So it's very technical to do properly.
